Most places of employment want PCAs who have long hair to put it up. I myself am one of them, I have all the PCAs that work for me place their hair up. This prevents injury to yourself if a patient/resident who is combative tries to grab your hair (good luck trying to get them to let go), wearing your hair up also prevents transmission if pathogens. With long hair, your hair can go into places or things that you may not want it to, and those areas or fluids may contain pathogens or other infections which you don't want to take home or give to other patients. Hope this helps

You might have to, but there are ways to put it up that won't hurt your head so much. You should try to find some combs or some clips that don't pinch. There's a big variety out there, check on amazon.
